Facilities typically use a 75 ohm “video” patchbay for interfacing the digital audio signals. What then to do with the many devices that employ 8 pairs of 110 ohm, AES-3, audio signals on a single D-25 connector? The usual “fix” is to hang eight expensive baluns on an expensive breakout cable in a lump in the back of the rack. The AES3ID8 is a 1RU rack mount unit with 8 BNC connectors mating with a D-25 connector. We use the highest quality transformers available, and meet 192K specs.
